Shabby Apple Knockoff

I decided to try my hand at recreating a Shabby Apple dress. I think it turned out pretty good. I kind of followed a tutorial over at Suburbs Mama, but I had to make up a lot because she did not include how she computed her measurements. (For some silly reason this really got me stuck. I often like things specifically outlined for me step by step, but I'm slowly learning to venture off into the unknown.)

I don't know if anyone else's wardrobe does this, but I seem to have a color scheme that I stick to.  If you pull an item out of my closet it will be either: black, grey, or blue.  Those are always the colors I am attracted to at the store. I told myself when I went to the store to purchase my t-shirt and fabric that I could not purchase anything black, grey or blue.  Everything I was originally attracted to was one of these colors, but I stuck to my guns and got a mint green material for the skirt that I decided to pair with a neutral white. The result: I LOVE IT! I wore it to my cousins farewell this weekend and wore it for most of the day. It's super comfortable, but also very stylish.  I love the ruffles, they are my favorite part.  I find myself wishing for those comfortable hues at times, but that's mostly because I feel like I stand out a little too much for my comfort.

Thanks for reading!
